MR

Marcela Rodríguez

Owner, importadora · Bogotá

"I had done a Financial Clarity Session because I was worried about our cash position — we had sales but always felt short. Within an hour Andrés had identified a timing issue between collections and payments that I had not seen in three years of running the business. The written summary was useful enough to share with our accountant."

Javier Castillo

Co-founder, tech consultancy · Medellín

"We signed up for the Controllership Companion after a difficult tax season. By month two we had a dashboard our finance manager was actually maintaining on her own. The pace was right — not too much at once. I would have preferred slightly more depth in the first month, but overall the three months were well structured."

Natalia Peña

CEO, consumer goods company · Bogotá

"The Foundations Study was exactly what we needed before approaching a bank for credit. The roadmap they delivered gave us a credible internal picture of what needed to change before we presented to any lender. The team alignment session brought our finance staff and operations together in a way that had not happened before."

Guillermo Forero

Director, logistics firm · Bogotá

"What stood out was how little pressure there was. I have used consultants before and there is always an implicit expectation that you will buy the next service. Here, after the Clarity Session, Andrés told me plainly that I did not need the Controllership programme yet — and explained what to do instead. That honesty built a lot of trust."

Laura Montoya

Financial manager, food & beverage · Bogotá

"I appreciated that sessions were structured but not rigid. When an unexpected question about our margin structure came up mid-session, Carlos spent half the time on it rather than sticking to the planned agenda. The written summaries were also noticeably better than what I normally see from consultants — clear, short, and actionable."

Diego Varela

Owner, services SME · Cali

"We did the Foundations Study remotely by video call, which worked well. The controls assessment was thorough and identified two areas we had not realised were gaps. The roadmap document was the most useful output we received — we have referred to it several times since the engagement ended."

Case Studies

How specific engagements unfolded

Three accounts in more detail — each starting from a different challenge.

The Challenge

A Bogotá importadora was growing in revenue but seeing its bank balance shrink month by month. The owner could not identify the cause and was starting to worry about the company's stability.

The Approach

We conducted a Financial Clarity Session focused on the cash conversion cycle — reviewing purchase payment terms against collection timelines. The analysis revealed a 45-day gap that was absorbing the company's operating cash.

The Outcome

Within six weeks of the session, the owner had renegotiated supplier terms, reducing the gap to 18 days. The bank balance stabilised within one quarter. Engagement duration: one session plus follow-up call.

The Challenge

A family-owned manufacturing company had never had formal management reporting. The owners made decisions from memory and instinct. They knew this was becoming a problem as the business grew past 25 employees.

The Approach

We ran a three-month Controllership Companion, establishing a basic P&L and cash flow dashboard that the finance manager could update weekly. Monthly sessions focused on reading and acting on that information, not on building more complex tools.

The Outcome

By month three, the finance manager was producing and presenting the weekly report independently. The owners described it as the first time they felt they understood their numbers rather than running from them. Engagement duration: three months.

The Challenge

A consumer goods company was preparing to approach a development bank for a credit line. Its financial reporting was inconsistent and its internal controls were informal. The bank's preliminary checklist had flagged several concerns.

The Approach

The Financial Foundations Study examined their reporting structure, controls environment, and planning process across four weeks. The prioritized roadmap addressed what the bank was likely to scrutinise first, and the team alignment session brought the finance and operations teams into shared understanding of the priorities.

The Outcome

The company returned to the bank three months later with a stronger application and received the credit line on its second presentation. The CEO noted that the roadmap document was used almost directly as the basis for their internal improvement plan. Engagement duration: four weeks.
